Tristan Daley is a filmmaker who was raised in Henry County, Georgia. Growing up, drawing and sketching characters was one of his favorite hobbies. That eventually grew to him wanting to tell each characters' story. Aspirations of being a visual artist and storyteller led him to go to Tisch School of the Arts (NYU) for film and television production. While there, he studied abroad for a semester at FAMU in the Czech Republic with a focus in Directing & Cinematography. His final undergraduate project, a short film called "Debt to Society," received 3rd prize at Tisch's First Run Film Festival. It was also nominated for an HBO Short Film award and won a producing award at Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival. He also had the honor of screening the short film at the AMC in Time Square for Urbanworld Film Festival. Though writing and directing features and tv shows are his main aspiration, lack of resources led to his ventures in documentary as well. His basketball documentary I Am Peace 2 premiered on Slam Magazine's website and tells the story of a community organization run by and for Brooklyn youth. The film follows the I Am Peace Foundation as they host their 2nd annual basketball tournament, which began as a response to the gun violence in their neighborhood. Another project on his roster is Icon TV, a web series focusing on independent artists in the New York City area. Each artist featured has an episode tailored to them that is directed, shot, and edited by Tristan. While his work thus far has been centered in New York City, Tristan never can forget his roots planted in the red clay soil of his hometown. Above all he seeks to tell stories resembling those of his everyday life back in Georgia.
